Class B Motorhomes
Called campervans, Class Bs are much more compact than the massive Class A motor coaches. The advantage of Class B RVs is their maneuverability and small footprint: they drive like a minivan or utility van, and they are far easier to park than a gigantic motorcoach. This makes single vehicle travel much easier than with larger RVs, as it can easily be driven into and out of store parking lots.
The primary drawback of a class B is it only sleeps 2 people comfortably, and the amenities of a Class B RV are far more limited than a Class A. It’s less than ideal for family travel, but if you have modest needs and simple taste in travel accommodations then the Class B is more than adequate for your RV life needs.
Class C Motorhomes
By far the most popular type of RV, Class C RVs combine the expanded living space of a Class A with the superior maneuverability and handling of Class B campervan. Class Cs have all the standard bath, bed, and kitchen amenities found on more expensive Class As, but they sleep more people thanks to their overcab compartment. They are shorter and narrower than a Class A, but wider and longer than a Class B. Many also have slide outs like Class As, and their cab is enclosed separately from passenger/living space, separated by a small doorway.
On average, a Class C sleeps 8-12 and is popular with small to medium sized families who make short-haul trips to the lake or the beach. They also cost significantly less than a Class A without sacrificing amenities, features, or interior space like a Class B. Fifth Wheel RVs
Pickup truck owners love Fifth Wheel RVs since they already have a vehicle ideally suited to tow them. These mobile homes are designed to attach to a post mount in a pickup truck bed, and generally, they have a cabin or storage section that overhangs the post.
Not unlike a tractor-trailer, fifth wheels can go anywhere your pickup can and provide significantly more living space and amenities than most pop-up campers. Additionally, they are far less expensive than a Class A while providing many of the slideouts and similar amenities only available on big motor coaches. Generally, fifth wheels are popular among families and older couples with a pickup who don’t plan on moving more than a few times a year or who take infrequent but extended trips.
